Alvin Tjitrowirjo

Industrial Designer, former student of the Master of European Design Labs 2008. He has his own studio and manages his own brand: alvinT.

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, 1983, he later graduated as an industrial designer from RMIT University, Melbourne. Some of his designs have already been exhibited at the Salone Satelitte in Milan, Melbourne Design EX,  Ambiente’s Talents in Frankfurt and in the solo-exhibitions: “Alvin+Volvo” (2006) and “Mi Casa Su Casa” (2007).

His research project for the Master of European Design Labs 2008 revolved about contemporary Indonesian  design.  It was focused on combining high quality traditional materials  and craftsmanship with innovation, making attractive products for the international market, as the banch Mingle.

After finishing his masters, Alvin worked in the studio of Marcel Wanders. He currently displays his designs in the shop window of Harrods, London, and Interni Magazine has published his design Linger in the April 2010 edition. In August he has participated in ARTjakarta 2010. Indonesian Art Fair with an exclusive design for BMW.
