LEATHER CRAFTING AND PACKAGING DESIGN MINI CLASS

Another lingkaran’s Mini Classes, Leather Crafting: Bifold Wallet Making and Packaging Design: Telling Product’s Story have happened last weekend, 13th and 14th June 2015, at Conclave Jakarta. Teamed up with Richwan Hartono from Sekkha and Reymond Lee from Leedesign Associates, we successfully delivered one fun weekend experience to the passionate learners through the mini classes.

Started off on the Saturday with Richwan from Sekkha, we were taught to make a simple leather bifold wallet using a single piece of leather. Our participants that day varied from designer, student, business starter, banker, to engineer (such an interesting crowd, right?). Richwan began the class by introducing some basic knowledge and information about leather – from explaining different types of leather, to telling us which one to use for what –, followed by the explanation of which tools to be used and the step-by-step process. All participants seemed very enthusiastic and keen to learn new things from Richwan, as he was also being so assisting during the workshop. It was a very interesting sight to see the participants turning only a piece of leather into a simple wallet all by themselves, from cutting, sewing, up to the finishing touches.

Wendy Pratama from lingkaran ended the session by giving a short business insight on “How to Start Your Fashion Brand” in relation with the aim of lingkaran to turn their learners into successful creativepreneurs. The five-hour workshop turned into success with all the happy faces of participants bringing back their self-made leather wallet and a lot of new knowledge.

The following day, we had our time with Reymond Lee learning and discussing on how to tell our product’s story through the packaging design. The session started by Reymond Lee giving a presentation on the basic fundamentals of packaging design followed by telling us a little story of his real-life experiences in the product packaging world.

After sharing the basic principles of impactful packaging design, Reymond Lee asked the participants to create and design their own packaging design of their product. In the end, Reymond Lee reviewed all the outcomes of the final activity and gave more insights to all the participants regarding their product packaging design decisions. Glad to be hearing some good feedbacks from our interesting learners that day, some said that they have gotten a lot of new inspirations for their own product after joining the session with Reymond Lee.

We will always try our best to give y’all passionate learners a good story from our classes and sessions and we hope that we can always satisfy your needs in the longlife learning experience!
