Hard and soft skills are calling in the same line
InfraDigital foundation together with lingkaranx held a boot camp program called Cybersecurity Training, focused on providing soft skills training. Cybersecurity Training was one of the InfraDigital Foundation programs for vocational students and fresh graduates of vocational high school in West Java that have relevant expertise in the information and communication technology field.
This training aimed to equip young Indonesian tech talents to have specific expertise and skills in the cybersecurity field, an important element in many lines of work in government agencies, companies, and private industries. The big theme of the boot camp is Job Channeling, consisting 80% hard-skill training and 20% soft-skill training; both aimed to prepare participants on enhancing their career readiness and claim their role in the professional world.
Real work experiences require real work practice
Total of 100 vocational high school students in West Java joined this online boot camp for approximately 6 months. Through these 18 meetings, participants learned about primary soft skills, communication, and public speaking skills, presentation skills, and job preparation. Students are not limited to listening to the presentation of material from the mentor, but also work on individual assignments, group assignments, and also carry out practical assignments.
Furthermore, the students were able to create their own CVs, build their portfolios, and set up LinkedIn accounts that could be used to represent their professional profiles when applying for jobs.
One of the most job-related practices was the job interview session. During the interview session, each participant entered the breakout room to carry out a practice interview session with HR from lingkaran as a mentor. During the program, all participants can access the learning materials, Zoom links, and class recordings by using the Learning Management System (LMS).
At the end of the program, all participants had the opportunity to participate in a job fair and submit their CVs and portfolio they made during the program.
